Signed proof, annotated "Probedruck", with the series number 28 for the projected portfolio "Amerika im Holzschnitt" (America in woodcuts) which was announced by the publisher Eugen Diederichs but never accomplished as an edition. There was a book edition "Amerika im Holzschnitt. Vom Rhythmus der neuen Welt" reproducing a selection of motifs from the two print series "Amerika im Holzschnitt" and "Rhythmus der neuen Welt" (Rhythm of the new world) in smaller format, published 1927 by Diederichs Verlag. The proofs, most probably pulled by the artist himself are however exceedingly scarce.
