Published in 1924. This first state of 'the anchor stones' of graphic work by Kees van Dongen was issued in a limited edition of 30 copies by the prestigious Galerie des Peintres Graveurs by Edmond Frapier. Only some were issued unnumbered, bearing the signature in pencil by the artist, as in the copy we present here.
We have multiple copies of this masterpiece in our collection: a rare handsigned first state as shown in the main picture, a framed copy first state which is numbered and stamp-signed, and 2 copies of the third state framed.
